This is the building of former Hotel Meissl & Schadn that was erected at the Neuer Markt 2 id 1894-1896.
The huge mosaic at the rear of the hotel was created in 1896 by Eduard Veith. The hotel burned down in 1945, but the mosaic survived and is still visible at Kärntnerstrasse 16.
This is "Orient and Occident" and shows the five continents.
