Rochester, NY

Kodak Park was once the largest photographic manufacturing facility in the world and employed 15,000 people. It is now the Eastman Business Park and houses several smaller companies including a medical marijuana grow operation.

Such sad irony: a former film/paper factory
documented by the technology that doomed it.
I cringe every time I look at Kodak Park in
Google Earth---it keeps getting smaller.

I love this color and detail ~V~

A landmark site. Glad to hear they resurrected their approach
to smaller companies .

It still looks vibrant but I guess it's greatly downsized. What a shame. Digital caught them completely flatfooted. Great color photo of the old plant. No pun intended. Vote.

Wow! Very nice shot that gives a very good idea of what the whole place looks like. I like that the old smoke stacks are still standing - I assume they are no longer used for anything. I would love to visit this. ~BV~

Super composition and lighting here! V

I love the colour of the light here and the scattering of dark clouds. It has a slightly chilly but not yet cold feel to it, probably appropriate for the sunset of one industry, at least.

'gone to pot' then, both figuratively and literally...admire this richly detailed scene and excellent composition...V

What an excellent capture of this facility, in wonderful warm light. It looks like much of the premises had a specific use for Kodak and thus would now be defunct, but good to hear some companies are making use of it. V.

What a great capture, it looks quite surreal! Interesting mood and information, too...! V

Hilarious! Nice tribute. This has a Pink Floyd Animals feeling to it.
