Rochester, NY

Former Terrence Building (Rochester State Psychiatric Hospital). It was opened from 1959 until 1995 when it was closed and patients were moved to newer facilities. It has remained vacant since that time.

Seems there could find a new use for a building that size. Very nice B&W capture,. Vote.

A shame it could not be re-purposed. Good shot of it, with nice B&W tones. V

Very intimidating stance for this building. Love the strong shadows and ominous monotone. V

There is something wrong if a building like this can remain vacant for 20 years and there so many people without homes. A strong well composed image. The caption made a huge difference. "V"

So sad to see all those empty buildings when so many people have to live on the Streets.

Excellent mood, tone and lighting. V

Such a huge facility to have been abandoned. The excellent light and toning certainly add to the bleakness of the scene. V.

Nicely presented in B·W....V

Doomed and so very dramatic…great interpretation! V Cannot believe it would be still standing and still vacant. Can you get access inside? That would be so interesting as well.
