Very glad to see that these places exist especially throughout the winter months.V

On the one hand the general environment suggests a sanctuary of last resort. On the other, the sign, both in style and freshness, seems to offer a glimmer of hope. B&W was definitely the way to go with a subject like this.

Stark in appearance but very welcome by those who need it. V

Another powerful image that has a strong message. The image is excellent as a monochrome with the lighting and detail. I also think the black and white gives this image a cold and distant feeling. Voted

It looks harsh, but I'm sure it's a welcome sight to people seeking shelter. Excellent documentary capture, Julie. V.

Such a contrast in the cheerful, artsy sign on the fence and the perfunctory sign taped on the door. I like the name of the shelter. It sounds very welcoming.

A great shot a great cause!

A welcoming beacon for those in need of shelter. The b&w treatetment, barbed wire and the state of the building provide a strong contrast to the sign offering hope. Very well composed. Strong work! "V"
