These pregnant Ragged Tooth Sharks come up from Aliwal Shoal where they mate during Aug/Sep.

They do not feed during the gestation period, note the algae present on the teeth. These ladies are relatively docile during this time, but care should be taken so as not to disturb them. Up to 30 female sharks can be found in Sodwana Bay during Dec/Jan before they give birth to a single youngster.
