Cambodia was in my bucket list and a dream destination come true when I first visited it in 2011. I stayed overnight in Siem Reap, the gateway of the ancient wonders of Angkor Complex. This year, I was able to cover more of the temple ruins, enjoy its breathtaking vistas, experience the culture and marvel at its sunrise and sunset.

The blooming Municipality of Mati, the capital and heart of the province of Davao Oriental, celebrated its 10th Sambuokan Festival and 107th Araw ng Mati foundation this October with a flourish. |

Photo was taken during my live TV coverage of the festival parade. I was holding two cameras while my microphone is in my back pocket. The third camera is from my friend for pictorial purposes. :-) |
My first taste of the local transportation called SKYLAB (motorcycle with wood planks tied together as passenger seats), a "death defying" experience in Surigao del Sur back in 2008 (in photo is Surigao del Sur Provincial Tourism Officer Lala Ambray. Please see my back view in another photo.

My first taste (me on left side wearing black shirt and holding on for dear life) of the local transportation called SKYLAB (motorcycle with wood planks tied together as passenger seats), a "death defying" experience in Surigao del Sur, 2008. |
She is the resident madwoman of Siargao Island. I liked her a lot. She used to chase after men and try to grab their balls. |
THINGS ARE LOOKING UP! Out on a travel adventure, my fellow lifestyle columnist Jinggoy Salvador (front, sitting in his 6 foot frame) and I (at the back) looked skyward as we boarded a typical tricycle in Pagadian City, capital of Zamboanga del Sur. Our driver told us not to fear, for these are heavy duty vehicles pointing upwards in mobile. I asked fellow writer Claire Dy to take photos of us from my camera. Up, up and away! |
Celebrated every month of August in Davao City, Philippines |

The renowned portrait photographer who hails from my country but is known globally for his innovative and intense photographic style has become my good friend and mentor. He has a good influence in my photography in my early years of taking this hobby seriously. A fun guy to be with as well.
Visit his pbase and be amazed. Just a warning, though. It is hard to get out of that site.
