I realise his head is completely 'blown out', but these were tricky lighting conditions.

A couple of overhead spotlamps create strong shadows, and a bald head doesn't really help - sorry, Sonny!

Sometimes it is better to break the rules John. The burn out on the top of the head focues more attention to the well detailed face.

I agree with Sheila - it's a great portrait - the lighting limitations help convey the sense of being present at a live performance.
