But the size and efficiency of modern farm machinery makes me feel old!! Now, when I were a lad ....

It wasn't until I did my family history, did it hit home the vast numbers who worked the land. Look through tyhe same census 150 years later and you'll find I.T. consultants instead - and making a 70 mile commute too!

Ah yes the good old days when we tossed sheaves of wheat on the wagon to be hauled to the barn and then thrashed. the machine protruded through the barn and cast the straw onto a pile in the barnyard. I only did it once but what a great memory
