I'm not a big admirer of the Victorian gravestones - actually this is barely of that era -
but the language on this stone (like the stone itself) has aged so well!
'Deposited remains' sounds like this guy was down to earth and wasn't one for fancy words.
'Terrestial Sojourn' - wasn't that an Album by Yes in the early 70's?!
And 'humbly looking forward to blissful eternity' is right out of Dickens -
"begging your pardon, Mr Copperfield but I wuz humbling hoping for a bit
of blissful eternity, if it pleases you, Mr Copperfield. Cuz' I am ever so humble, Mr Copperfield!"
I always suspected life was more fun before the Victorians!
