20051128 The Good Old Days

Headington, Oxford, England

No desaturation and duotone here - this is the real thing!

One of this merry band is a distant relation of Sue's.

As I was making a digital copy of the decaying original for mother-in-law,
I thought I would use it for my PAD.

other sizes: small medium large original auto

What a picture, John. I have a photo in a smilar vein but we are struggling to identify the people. So glad you saved this - you ought to make a copy for your county archives and/or museum.

Gosh, I am sorry I missed this one. A superb job--by both photographers.

Recovery well done.

I am so happy you could preserve this photo. People did not smile in photos before 1920 because it was considered vulgar to show your teeth. They might have had something there!

I love old photographs like these...they have so much character. (It just cracks me up that no one ever smiled!) Great restoration job!

Full load on board.
I'll just grab a paper and have a seat
till the next coach comes in...

Good job of preservation. When I see these turn-of-the-last-century pics, I often think that the most time-consuming part of photgraphy back then would have been organizing the great mob of people who wanted to be included.

Great image, memories of the flat cap workforce....

Which one is you? ;-)
Excellent recovery work.
