Fountains Abbey Vaults

Ripon, North Yorkshire

Yes purists, the wide-angle lens has distorted the verticals! But no lens could convey this amazing
architecture perfected so many hundreds of years ago.
Even standing there with the naked eye, it is hard to believe.
I'd like to think that my distorted perspective is in tune with the creative ambitions held by whoever created and chose this structural design.

Highly recommended as a place to visit!

Well that ceiling is already very curvaceous so you can hardly tell :o))
