A stretch of coast below the road a little north of Punakaiki. Every time I have been back since taking this photo in a previous life those stones have been all covered by sand. It is a bit of a trek down a bank (and even more of one back up) via an overgrown track used by fishermen and smugglers. Watch any incoming tide.....my camera backpack was the subject of a float test thanks to an over zealous wave. Fortunately it floated towards New Zealand and not Australia.
