Autumn colours on the banks of the Kawarau River where it exits Lake Wakatipu not far from Queenstown. Taken from the Kawarau Falls Bridge which runs across the dam of the same name. The dam was built with gold mining in mind, the idea being to reduce the river flow so gold could be accessed. However the idea was a fizzer as the Shotover River flows into it a little way down from here so water kept on coming. Actually, to get the shot I was on the dam rather than the bridge itself which is a single lane affair with nowhere to place a tripod and keep one's bum clear of passing sheep trucks etc.
