This summer the bears have taken over. After lions 1986, cows 1998 and benches 2001, about 600 bears appeared all over the city.They cost round 900 $. Basically everyone could buy a plain one, and decorate them as they please. Some represent businesses or a company, but most where created by artists. I walked for six hours all over town, and so far I could find only about 500. Scores of schoolchildren swarm all over town, some have to draw bears as a school project. After only one night, vandalism and theft already claimed it’s first victims. Even in Switzerland we have a lot of “armi sieche” who just don’t get it. Anyway, hope you enjoy it, and in case you travel to Switzerland this summer, the bears will be here till September.
