We where cheated of our chance to become champions in 1994. We where leading the Flyers 2-0 in the sixth and last inning. With two outs and bases loaded, a hard grounder was hit to shortstop Cameron Mins, who fielded the ball and threw to second base Oliver Labhart, who stepped on the bag for the third out, just before the runner slid into the base. The base umpire just stood there, and mumbled something like “Timeout”. The fielders still expected a call from the umpire, as the runners from third and second base raced for home. The umpires met, and decided the runner was save, the umpire on second base denied to have called time, and the two runs where allowed to score. So we had to go in extra innings. In the 10th inning, a error allowed the Flyers to score, giving them the second win in the best of three series.
