Part two featuring additional photos from my favorite off-the-beaten-path badlands locality. This section is accessed by taking a different dirt track cutoff from the "main" dirt track leading into the area. Again I am sticking with the 50mm prime lens and composing by shifting my position instead of zooming in or out. This would be a wonderful place to camp - totally isolated.
I've processed these images thoughtfully, considering how they might look in either color or b&w - making that decision based on any colorful aspects of the photos as opposed to the prominence of structural detail. The beauty of digital is that one can always return to the raw file and reprocess as wanted. Even within the confines of "black and white" there are practically endless opportunities for variation and stylistic preference, as can be seen here.
