What they refer to as a Catamaran in Kauai is a large twin-hulled vessel in no danger of keeling over; once I realized this from the pictures of the boats, I had no qualms in carrying my photo gear onboard for the trip. We saw numerous pods of dolphins, and several whales (though all at a distance).
