Motion blur

This is what happens when you set a slow shutter speed and add motion as you click the shutter - intentionally. Results are best when you choose a low or slanting light situation, and it helps when your subject is captured in autumn at the height of fall leaf colors.

The fun part: you don't have to worry about sharpness, or get too concerned about altering "reality" in post-processing, because your goal is not to mirror reality. You can treat your images as artworks along the lines of Van Gogh paintings (which some of your images will start to resemble, if you're lucky).
