At the beginning of October 2015, the control-line “Champion of Champions” meeting took place at Arkley, near Barnet, a five day event,

Just prior to the event Alan Kirtley met Mike Crossman (pit boss) and a group of control-line competitors at RAF Hendon and my name and ETA cropped up and Mike invited me to the last day of the competition. The weather was perfect and so was the company reminiscing about team racing. I can't believe the cost of a T/R motor and airframe - £2,500 – with motors turning at 40,000 rpm and an airspeed approaching140mph. No wonder only nine teams entered for the Nat's this year.
