At the start of the the racing season I collected the two engines from Ken and he said he had found a new oil called Klotz. Ken had obtained a free sample from the USA and we would be using it in our fuel. It was used in hydroplane racing engines. 1970 would prove to be a very good year for Team Eta with a 2nd place at the London area,4th at the British Nats and 3rd at Elliott Automation so far so good. The Elliott rally was won by the Turner/Hughes team and Brian Turner said this would be their last rally and as we were racing his Mistress racer he would pass on a few tips on airframe, fuel tank and carburetter design. Brian also gave me the Mistress airframe they raced at the World championships.
The southern gala finalists had to race the finals at Hayes because the racing ran out of time we had to clear the aerodrome by 18 00 hrs. The American guards turned up in there in Jeeps and surrounded us then escorted us off the base!
