In 1968 the 1000 lap European postal race was held. With no heats or finals it came down to each team having just one three up race to find the fastest team. Team Eta broke the world record: Ken's pit stops were perfect - every one a first flick start and I acquired a back injury from my left shoulder to my waist that lasted two years. Still it was worth it.
Ken was asked to prepare two 15s for the British team entry for the 1968 European championships. We all met at the Hayes circuit and
spent the morning practicing pit stops, but they didn't make the European finals.
1968 wasn't too bad for us with a 1st in the London area rally, 2nd Hayes Gala, 3rd in the South Coast Gala and of course that world record.
