After we solved the lacquer problem*, 1967 proved better for "Team Eta". We were now racing the Wanstead model but we ran into a problem with the alloy half pans.I made a wooden pattern and Ken had them cast in alloy but they would crack in the model or when machine finishing, so I asked Ken to machine one out of solid and this solved the problem. This took most of the year to solve, just missing the other finals by a few seconds. By now silencing was a joke you could get away with anything as you can see the exhaust was straight through.
