Strawberry Field, Liverpool
Strawberry Field in Liverpool was immortalised by the Beatles in their 1967 song. The gates are no longer used as the entrance but the Salvation Army Childrens Home in Beaconsfield Road still remains. In 1984, Yoko Ono visited and later sent a large donation for its upkeep. One year later, an area of Central Park in New York was also named Strawberry Field in John Lennon’s memory.
