As a youngster I used to play along the confluence of the Mississippi and Minnesota rivers as our family lived in Qtrs. 2-C (originally one of the six units within the old Officer's Qtrs.)from 1954-1957. At that time my Father, a physician, worked out of the VA's Area office which was located at the Fort. The two rivers, the thousands of acres of woods behind our house, now a National Park, and some small lakes close by were our playgroud. Obviously I've many wonderful childhood memories of our Ft. Snelling days.
