Reflections

Edna Taylor Conservancy, Madison, WI

For animation, must be viewed in "Original"
An explanation as to what is being shown, (each view is for 2-seconds):

1 – Original (straightened and cropped)
2 – I applied a Levels layer, made no changes and then changed blend mode to ‘Multiply’. I then used a layer mask so that the effect of Levels was only applied to the sky reflection.
3 – I then applied a Channel Mixer layer to boost the reds and yellows, (less the reeds). Again I did this by using a layer mask.
4. I then applied the ‘Midnight Black’ action but using a layer mask, removed the effects from the yellow leaves and partially from the red leaves. I also did some dodging and burning and I used Hue/Saturation layer to reduce some of the saturation that occurs when using the ‘Midnight Black’ action.
5 – Finally, I applied the High Pass filter at radius 4.4 and at full strength to sharpen some of the blurring caused by “Midnight Black”.

My poor back and my mood both seem to be somewhat better, (although it was a rough night sleeping). I hope to get around to your galleries today.

Great processing of this animation of fall, Love the soft filter you used and the saturated colors, as if emerging into Autumn from dusk to dawn. Very nice~
