Heemskerk, Netherlands

Marquette Estate in Heemskerk. The castle in the background was originally built in the 13th century by William-ll, the then count of Holland. In the course of the centuries it was rebuilt several times. Today it's still privately owned and not accessible for visitors although one can walk freely around the estate and adjacent woods.

sp pleasant an image, and peaceful too...the catle seems more like a mansion, and certainly revelas a rich past...the passing 'skaters' add a vibrant touch to the scene..
