Quite a surpise to find a sculpture of John Lennon in the park that was named after him. In the 60's and 70's such a thing was unthinkable in Cuba. But Castro made a complete 180 in the 80's and Lennon was celebrated since then as a hero. On a marble tile at the foot of the bench there is an inscription (in Spanish) reading "You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one," from the song "Imagine". (_MG_0209ed2.jpg)
