In Vietnam, girls in secondary school are required to wear a white ao dai, the traditional Vietnamese woman's dress.
This girl also wears long gloves and a cap with a brim, which are to protect her skin from the sun. In almost all of
Southeast Asia, white skin is preferred to dark. The scarf over her face protects her breathing but also keeps
the sun from reflecting on her skin.
