Alexander von Humboldt

Sculpture by Gustaf Blaeser, 1869. Von Humboldt (September 14, 1769 - May 6, 1859) was a Prussian naturalist
and explorer. The Humbolt Current, off the west coast of South America, was discovered by and named after him.
