Wistman's wood near Two Bridges is a place you need to visit if you want to get
an insight into the myths and legends of the moor.
This ancient Druid grove of stunted oaks, still struggling for their existence
amongst the big moss and lichen covered granite boulders,evokes all kinds of feelings.
It's only a 1.5 mile walk up the valley from the hotel, with a path most of the way
and a stile to climb over. Walking boots are a good idea.
Please do not take lichen from the trees or dislodge moss from the rocks,
it takes many years to regenerate. Don't leave litter to defile this
special place either.
