"I'm climbing carefully up a rather scary flight of stone steps
going downriver on the left hand side towards Fingle Bridge,
where they're planning to have a drink and a meal in
the riverside inn - if we ever get there.."
Later: ' They did after a couple of miles, and I learned how to be
a 'small dog' and stay under the table too.'
NB: These steep steps on the Fishermans Path go up over the base of Sharp Tor.
If you choose to come back on the other side of the river there is a difficult stone style
that lets you go over the Deer Park Wall to access the iron bridge.
I have long thought that if they were to make this stile, which is a bit of a boulder scramble,
significantly easier and safer, many more older or less able people would then be able to enjoy the walk.
