The first pictures (carnival, Eden project, flower macro, coastal scenery, and a sunset ) were taken on the Minolta Dimage 7i using P Mode only. No post processing 'corrections'. I think it gives a good starting point for new users who wish to run in automatic modes initially. / Pictures after WestwardHo! may have been taken in different modes or image processed.

Thank you for your appreciation, Paul. I remain very satisfied with the D7i and am sure you will likewise be getting plenty of enjoyment from the camera. It handles most situations really well, and it is so easy to alter the settings & filters and see what the results will be like in the electronic viewfinder. (Remember to set the electronic magnification so that you can focus in manual until the jaggies just start to appear.)

Hi John
Looking at your gallery has helped my decision on choosing a Minolta 7i. I have been using a Canon S30 for a year and i now need a little more resolution and a better lens. The pocket camera's are great fun but for serious photography you need something like a 7i.You have produced some very nice photographs John.

Thanks for your appreciation and questions.
The original digital image is 35" wide and at 72ppi.
The camera is set at Quality 3 (fine), Size 4 (2560x1920), - which makes the images around 2MB in size.
To print them one selects a ppi of around 200-300 and sets the output size as desired.

Hi John,

Many thanks for posting your Dimage 7i images. I am new to Digital photograpy and have just laid out a fair sum to buy a decent camera (Dimage 7i). I really appreciate your efforts in explaining which pictures were in 'P' mode. I am still confused by the size and quality choices on the camera and what these actually mean. Typically what size and quality did you use on those P photos?
