Cullevers Steps

Cullvers Steps on Dartmoor, just up on the Moors behind Okehampton is not only one of the most scenic locations in the area, but an absolute delight for those who might like to take a dip in a little pool on the cold refreshing stream on a summer's afternoon. (Wild swimming with dangerous rocks so not for the very young.)It's sheltered and a great place for a picnic too. It is accessible on foot down the 3/4 mile rough stone track from the military loop road. When you get almost to the bridge at the bottom, walk downstream for about 100 metres. If you want to get to the eastern side, cross both bridges and make your way along the river, the ground often wet, so 'proper' boots are a good idea. Don't drive down the stone track, it's just so ignorant and against the byelaws too (maybe only remotely arguable if you have a disabled person who wants to get there).
