The final round of the 2009 Lowell City Golf Tournament was held at Long Meadow Golf Club
in honor of the 100th Anniversary of the Club. The "Cities" as the tournament is commonly known, started, in 1923 and is the oldest known local amateur golf tournament in the country played on the same courses. Members from Mount Pleasant Golf Club, Long Meadow Golf Club, Nabnasset Lake Country Club and Vesper Country Club qualify at their home courses to play in this unique 54-hole medal play event. The tournament attracts a large gallery, many who have attended "The Cities" for decades.
