Thursday morning the tourists left for a trip over the Kancamagus National Scenic Byway,
which is a 35½-mile roadway, to Lincoln, NH for a visit to Clark’s Trading Post and the
White Mt. Central Railroad.
The drive along the Kancamagus Highway offers a trip back in time as you drive through a
forest that offers no comforts of the modern day world as; no gas stations, no restaurants,
hotels or other businesses have encroached their way onto the roadway.
The first less than perfect weather of the week occurred while the tourists were at
Clark’s as rain showers started that persisted most of the afternoon. The tour next
headed to the Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire where
lunch was served in the Grand Ballroom.
