A highlite of the trip was our ride on The Ghan from Alice Springs to Adelaide. This was very cool. We had our own room with bunks and a bathroom. Our group had a club car and a dining room. It was right out of movie from the'30s. I expected to meet Humphrey Bogart or Lauren Bacall in the hallway. The Ghan runs from Darwin to Adelaide. The name comes from the fact that the original mode of transportation of freight on the route was with camels from Afghanistan.
