I drove Ginny's parents over to Astoria today to see the Coast Guard tall ship Eagle. It is a magnificent ship that they use for cadet training. Unfortunately, as far as photography is concerned, it was terrible. There was no way to get a nice clear shot of it. the smaller vessel to the left is the lightship "Columbia" which has been decomissioned for quite a while. Anyway, we had a real good time visiting. We then went over to where the RV was parked and had some coffee. It was a cold day and the hot coffee really hit the spot.

This is the Oregon coast, John. Bright, sunny days are rare.

I find it very hard to get good pictures of big sailing ships.
Although there is no doubt a bright sunny day makes it easier.
