I got interested in the noise levels of my cameras and set up this little test. The upshot of the whole thing was that as expected, my Rebel 350 is pretty good and the S-70 isn't. I also discovered that the processing parameters you select (sharpness, etc.) only are applied to the jpegs not the raw. I figured that was the case. So the moral of the story is shoot raw and make any post processing adjustments in Photoshop.
