This is not what it appears to be. It is not my Nikon 9000 scanner being unpacked after its return from the repair depot. It arrived here yesterday. I pulled it out and got about 25 real good scans then it went on the blink again. So, this is a picture of it being packed for shipment to Nikon for further repairs. Now here is the corker on this one. It had a major malfunction when I sent it in for repair the first time. I asked the customer service rep what they did to fix it. She said that they cleaned it. CLEANED IT. Jeez, the dang thing wasn't working properly and they cleaned it. This thing really does a fantastic job. I just wish I didn't have to send it in after every 25 scans.

Larry, no Canon employees hired from Putney. There are no employees in Putney. Work, we leave that to the poor people.

I have to tell you one thing about this situation. Michigan is great.
I can't believe Nikon would treat people that way, though. I thought they
must have hired some ex Canon employees from Putney and Notner. I called the customer
service for you, John. They aren't supposed to give out information but since
I'm from Michigan they told me the awful truth. The one who decided
that a good cleaning was the answer a Houston native.

Carl: a trained eye, I see. You spotted the Bombay Saphire. Excellent taste.

did nikon send that bottle of bombay gin to help "lubricate" the gears?

IMO, A lemon... demand exchange for NIB or your money back !

John, reject it and ask for your money back. They (Nikon) will never be able to repair it.
My new Ford Transit van (about six months old) was sent to back to Ford under Warranty, with a list of 25 (twenty-five) MAJOR MALFUNCTIONS of the new Tiptronic gearbox.
Lots of them being very dangerous, i.e. the gearbox computer changing down a few gears at 70 mph, locking the rear wheels. Lucky I keep spare underwear in the van.
The van came back from Fords with 25 plus faults.
I ask them what they did, they said nothing at all, it drove into the workshop ok so there must be nothing wrong with it. A ten yard drive was supposed to fix all those faults.
I made a few enquiries and found that Ford had stopped selling vans with Tiptronic gearboxes as they were totally unable to make them work.
I rejected and returned it and am now awaiting delivery of a new Volkswagen van.
Good luck with the repair.

nothing is as bad as living in Michigan in the winter.
