I got a kick out of this. This is printed on the handle of the fuel pump nozzle at the local Exxon highway robbery station. Why the hell do you have to be a licensed driver to operate a gas pump?

I have seen that company's name for years and ignored it as just part of the background of life. But its presence here prompted me to investigate: that journey of discovery took me to Simsbury, Connecticut.

If it catches on fire, just cover it with cracked ice.

Presenting all this gobbledegook at the pump is adding insult to injury (prices).

Many years ago when I worked for a living. Myself and Bill were working in a small room in a very large complex. Some people ran past the door, I grabbed Bill's arm and said "out, as quick as we can". While running down the corridor, overtaking the other people. Bill said "what are we running for". I said "no idea, we will find out when we get outside".
We reached the outside of the complex just as the Fire Engines arrived.
My survival instincts are finely honed.

When I was employed as a plant manager at a very large company, we had an acronym for actions to take in case of fire - RLH. Loosely translated that means "run like hell."

Never mind the "licensed driver" bit...What really "sparks" my humorous vein is the "Remain at nozzle in case of fire" part...Right...
(If the "in case of fire" part belongs with the "do not remove nozzle" one, it is even funnier.)

Given how crazy the average licensed driver is, I'm not sure I want them operating a gas pump either.
