Comments from Ron Ginn: This picture with my mom was taking in 1968 after the first flight of NIG, This airplane was a family affair. When NIG was being built in our garage in Van Nuys CA. i was about 7 or 8 years old watching my dad putting it together, I remember all the ribs being built with all the spruce and then one day after the wings were all covered and doped my mom and I came home from somewhere to find the garage caught on fire and all My Dads work on the wings were destroyed, The Freezer in the garage started up and i guess a spark from the motor caused the fire, So now it was back to square 1. My dad had to start all over and in a matter of time he got another set of wings built, Then he had a major set back with a back operation, but my dad never gave up. As you might know my dad was the orginal founder of Air Craft Spruce, witch is now Called Aircraft Spruce and Specialty's, my dad started that business in our garage with a ol craftsman table saw cutting spruce for all the home builders in CA. later in 68/69 he sold the business to Flow and her sons who now own a multi billion dollar corp.
