We had a beautiful clear day. I did a bunch of stuff at home then devided that the conditions were good for another photo session to practice my airborne shots. I pretty much have the conditions down now. I used 1/400, IS mode 2 and AI servo on the series I shot today. Using the AI servo mode all I have to do is track the airplane accurately. That is a challenge. What I found is that I am standing too close to the runway. Today I stood back quite a bit farther than normal and let the telephoto do the work. That makes the angular velocity a lot slower and reduces the angle of elevation. Some day I will be as good as Tom Beech!
