In today's episode of the continuing saga of the big trainer we hear Ginny say, "Aren't garage sales great?" Ginny is a grand master of garage sales, from both the selling and buying side. She ran the garage sales for out Boy Scout troop and we made LOTS of money. She really knows the ropes. Anyway, I digress.
Last year she got a FREE (the best kind) RC model at a garage sale. It just happened to be the exact same one as the big trainer. So, I posed the free fuselage next to the "used up" one and took this photo. Although these airplanes are nice primary fliers, they have one drawback. The film used to cover them is TERRIBLE. It is brittle. That is why the used up trainer has no N-number. Bloke had to replace the covering.
To thicken the plot a little bit, I went out to the hangar late last night to get some stuff that our high school student needed for his presentation on Saturday. To my amazement, the fuse of the old trainer was GONE, VANISHED. This could mean one of two things. First, it was dragged off by the local skunk to his burrow. I figure that this is unlikely since it was far too ugly to be coveted by any rational furry critter. As with ugly children, only a mother could love them. Second, I figured that Bloke (as the "mother" in this particular case) has dragged it off to his burrow in Seabrook and is now attempting to repair it. His burrow often contains soon to be restored children. I actually think it is the British in him, however. I remember the phrase "Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Or do without." That is something he learned during his youth while pub crawling in Norwich.
