This is my friend Bloke who still thinks he is a pilot. He has a vivid imagination. So, today, just to humor him, I told him he could operate an airplane that is actually off the ground. Well, he was plenty excited about that prospect for sure. He grabbed his sunglasses (because he is a pilot, you know) in spite of the fact he was in the hangar and settled into the cockpit. Here he is cruising at 1.500 feet with the gear sucked up. Now Bloke is a real smart person, and he asked why the propeller isn't turning while he is in flight. I told him that was because he was really flying a jet. That seemed to satisfy him.
Richard-you will appreciate this shot. We were in the middle of the gear check for the annual. Bob came over for the inspection today, now all I have to do is put all the stuff back on the airplane.
