his is a black backed jackal in the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. I was hoping we would see them. We spent a long time watching a pair of them wandering around. Our guide said that following them often leads to a big cat with a kill. These guys took a shot at downing a baby Impala but the big impalas chased them off.
