Today was a bucket list day for me. Kitt Peak National Optical Astronomy Observatory was the visit of the day. The weather was lousy, cold and windy up top, but it turned out to be a very interesting day. The guide for the two tours was a very experienced person and a very good communicator. We learned about the history of the site as well as the function of many of the instruments up there. I think there are about 25 of them ranging from a half meter to four meters. There was also a nice little museum at the Visitor Center. Ginny enjoyed a session with a plasma globe at the Kitt Peak Visitor Center. A great day all around.
