We had an interesting time at the U.S. Army Museum of Hawaii in Honolulu. As I was viewing the exhibits I came across this photo which I thought was pretty cool. Nice capture on the muzzle flash. Anyway I figured I could find out more about that picture by doing some internet searching some time in the future, like today. Well, Google lens didn't help at all. There was only one reference and that said the origin and location of the photo was unknown. I knew it was a 12 inch coast defense mortar because I found a description on the museum wall. Wikipedia had an article about it. That's all I know. I think it would be cool to see one being fired.
