Over the past few months my browser (Chrome) has started to act up. Certain sites just didn't work properly. I had no idea why these things were happening. I did a bit of googling and didn't come up with anything useful. That happens a lot. So I got to thinking about Chrome's browsing data. In the past I have cleared browsing history, download history, Cookies and cached images and files. So I did that but the problems still remained. One thing I had never tried was clearing site settings. I googled that and found the usual collection of contradictory information. But what the heck, I gave it a try (there were 367 entries). Nothing exploded. I tried the previously offending web sites and they all worked. Glory be!
If you go look at your privacy settings you find dozens of them. I can honestly say I don't understand some of them, so I just say "NO" to almost everything. I am not a power user for sure. Today's image is of the Clear Browsing Data pop-up in Chrome. There are only three site settings currently. I haven't noticed any problems since deleting the other 364 of them.
