I suppose half the photographers in the world were out to get a picture of the Super Blue Moon. I had in mind a photo of the moon setting over the trees at the airport. I set up out there and decided to warm up with some photos of the moon just to get my settings right. Well, I was quite surprised that an image with good focus was just not going to happen. The moon was at about 20 degrees above the horizon. As it came in just over the trees, matters were worse. Very disappointing. I was also puzzled by the red color cast on the moon. While I was post processing, it dawned on me that the problem was haze. I noted that the sunrise was very hazy. Haze buggers up the image and adds the color cast. I was toast. Anyway I kept shooting hoping for something good, but no joy. Today's photo is as it was setting behind the trees. Topaz didn't help. Garbage in garbage out. At least I have a memento of the morning's effort.
