I hadn't used my "Big Iron" cameras for quite a while. Today was the day. The objective was the swallows roosting on the power lines near the hangars. I have posted a photo I took with my Powershot SX70 a few days ago. I had goosed it somewhat using using Topaz Sharpen and it was pretty decent. The telephoto was zoomed all the way out to 1360 mm equivalent. Today I was shooting my EOS 7D Mk2 with the 100-400 lens. Got some good images one of which is today's photo. I used a little Topaz Denoise and got a really nice image.
As I pulled out the camera and lens out of the bag, I was amazed how heavy it was. The 7D and the 100-400 together weigh 5.5 pounds. The SX70 weighs 1,34 pounds. Quite a difference. There were no airplanes flying this morning so I didn't a crack at them. Maybe tomorrow.
